Amrita University (Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) was established in 2003 and is a multi-campus, multidisciplinary private university headquartered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It was conferred the status of a Deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 by the Government of India. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with the highest grade of A++ by NAAC, Amrita University has grown into one of India’s top private institutions for higher education.
Amrita University operates across seven campuses located in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh, spread across picturesque and eco-friendly environments. Library
Amrita University is home to a world-class library system that supports academic excellence and research across all its campuses. The Central Library, especially at the Coimbatore campus, is a hub of knowledge resources, offering a vast and ever-growing collection of materials in engineering, management, science, humanities, law, and health sciences.
The library houses an extensive collection of textbooks, reference books, e-books, research journals, periodicals, and multimedia content. It also subscribes to a wide range of national and international databases, e-journals, and digital repositories, enabling students and faculty to stay updated with the latest global developments in their respective fields.
Library operations at Amrita University are fully automated using modern library management systems. Through the university’s digital library portal, students and faculty can access e-resources, research papers, academic journals, and course materials across all campuses. The Wi-Fi-enabled infrastructure allows seamless access to online resources from anywhere within the campus.
The library also features a rich archive of student research projects, theses, and faculty publications, providing valuable references for academic and research work. Amrita’s digital library includes access to the Amrita Learning Management System (A-VIEW) and other proprietary educational tools and platforms.
With spacious reading halls, quiet study zones, and a seating capacity that accommodates over 1,000 users, the library provides a conducive environment for learning and intellectual growth.
